Turbans and Trust along with Daniel Connell and the Australian Sikh Heritage project put on an unforgettable display of colour and diversity at the Perth Sikh Games 2014.
Held over the Easter long weekend, Curtin University's Curtin Stadium was transformed into a cutting edge display of turbans, heritage and art with many Australians, Punjabis and Sikhs taking the opportunity to get a turban tied on them or try out a new style!
Curtin Stadium was transformed into an exhibition space with the Turbans and Trust stall leading into the venue entrance. Walking into the venue, everyone was blown away by Daniel Connell's immensely moving portraits of two Sikh men, an African lady and an Asian man. Walking past this exhibition everyone was treated to a heritage lover's feast with an exhibition premiere of Sant-Sipahi (Saint-Soldier) which was kindly put on by the Australian Sikh Heritage project.
The Honourable Dr Mike Nahan MLA, Margaret Quirk MLA, Natasha Cheung (Senior Policy Adviser to Dr Mike Nahan) and many others went through the Turbans and Trust experience and then continued through to the exhibition wearing their bright colourful turbans.
